We take these photos at the oddest and most unexpected places.

“Expectations”

These images are a selection from a series created by ringing random people’s doors to ask if I was allowed to take a peek into their lives. 18 dwellings were selected for the project, of which 3 images per dwelling.

“Every Stranger’s Eyes”

The text on the photographs (based on lyrics by Roger Waters) has at first glance little to do with the pictures themselves; but two stories are being told here, separate and inseparable at the same time, meeting each other in the last image. As a result, the images are woven into a personal, symbolic story of purification and self-awareness.

This series was exhibited in The Hague Municipal Museum, as part of the exhibition “De Ruimte 1995”.

Memories of China

In 2007, we were invited for 4 months to teach at an art academy in ChongQing, China.

Composed of many short segments that we shoot with a small digital camera, this is a video-diary of our visit.
